How is ChildFund promoting Social Emotional Learning in Schools?
ChildFund Philippines, in partnership with SEAMEO INNOTECH and DepEd, developed a localized SEL framework called Exemplifying Social and Emotional Learning in Learner’s Environs and Teacher’s pedagogy (ExSELLEnT). It defines SEL competencies based on Filipino culture and supports teachers, school leaders, families, and communities in guiding students’ social and emotional growth. The framework also encourages positive parent-child and teacher-child relationships, as supportive home and learning environments foster SEL skills development. It serves as a practical guide for integrating SEL into everyday teaching and helps students become confident, compassionate, and capable individuals.
