Project Sustainable Programs for Education, Advocacies, and Knowledge (Project SPEAK) is making waves by breaking the chains of child labor. Launched in April this year, the project supported by the European Union, has been an active contributor to child labor multi-stakeholder policy discussions to address the issue in Mindanao.
During the provincial-wide World Day Against Child Labor in Bukidnon, Project SPEAK distributed livelihood starter kits worth PHP 1.5 million to child laborer parents through the Department of Labor and Employment Integrated Livelihood Program and gave away school kits and grocery items to 100 child laborers.
On June 17, in a groundbreaking effort to combat child labor, ChildFund Philippines, Kaanib Foundation Inc. and the Department of Labor and Employment partnered with Robinsons Mall Tagum to launch a powerful billboard campaign.
The billboard carrying the message of commitment from Davao del Norte is strategically positioned in a high-visibility area to raise awareness, mobilize support, engage stakeholders, and galvanize collective action to address the pressing social issue.
“This billboard will serve as a powerful reminder of the urgent need to eradicate child labor and create a society where every child can enjoy their rightful childhood,” says Anand Vishwakarma, Country Director of ChildFund Philippines.
