ChildFund Philippines Walks 500 KM to Raise Support for 500 Children

To raise awareness and support for its local child sponsorship program, ChildFund Philippines launched the “Kindness in Motion” challenge, walking 500 kilometers for 500 children. The goal: to help more Filipino children grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe through consistent, one-on-one sponsorship.

Over five days, ChildFund Philippines’ staff from across the country walked in parks, neighborhoods, and city streets to show their collective commitment to the cause. What began as a symbolic challenge quickly grew into something bigger. By the end of the week, the team walked a total of 1,719.48 kilometers, more than triple the original target.

The activity served both as a fundraising push and a call to action for the public to sponsor a child through ChildFund’s new local sponsorship program. It demonstrated that even small, consistent actions—like walking a few kilometers each day—can add up to meaningful change when done together.

ChildFund staff shared updates throughout the walk to encourage others to join the movement. Each step taken represented a shared commitment to building a safer and more supportive environment for children.

Through #KindnessInMotion, ChildFund Philippines hopes to inspire more Filipinos to sponsor a child and take part in efforts that make a real difference in children’s lives.
