From Meals to Milestones: Enhancing Education Through Nutrition

ChildFund Philippines partnered with Convoy of Hope Philippines to implement a School-Based Feeding Program at Sta. Cruz Elementary School in Dipolog City and Governor Jose Aseniero Elementary School in Roxas. This initiative provided daily nutritious meals, ensuring that children received the essential nutrients needed to grow healthy, stay focused in school, and develop the skills necessary for the future.

Beyond providing meals, the program also promoted awareness about the importance of proper nutrition among children, parents, and the community. By creating a space where healthy eating was prioritized, both at school and at home, the program helped foster a greater understanding of how essential nutrition is for long-term well-being.

Last year, the School-Based Feeding Program made a significant impact, benefiting over 500 students. These children showed remarkable improvements in both their school attendance and nutritional status. Seeing the positive changes in the children’s health and academic performance confirmed the importance of this initiative in shaping healthier and more educated communities.

Building on the program’s success, we expanded its reach this year to support an additional 2,000 children. By improving students’ health, reducing absenteeism, and enhancing academic performance, we are helping to nurture a generation of healthier, more educated, and safer children.
