Giving Children a Voice: Launch of Project CLAP (Child-Led Advocacy Academy Project)

Every child deserves the chance to have a say in shaping their future. By creating opportunities for children to advocate for their rights, we contribute to a more inclusive and sustainable society. With this goal in mind, we are proud to announce the launch of Project CLAP (Child-Led Advocacy Academy Project), a partnership between ChildFund Philippines and EDUCO Philippines. This initiative aims to amplify children’s voices and give them the tools they need to be active participants in their communities and advocates for their rights.

Project CLAP is set to operate in five municipalities across Sorsogon, Albay, and Catanduanes, where it will engage children in workshops and activities designed to build their confidence and leadership skills. These sessions will provide a supportive space for children to learn how to express their ideas and concerns, connect with peers and community leaders, and access resources that will help them advocate for the issues they care about. The project recognizes that children can contribute meaningful solutions to challenges within their communities, and it seeks to nurture that potential.

Through Project CLAP, children will not only have the chance to speak up, but they will also be actively involved in decision-making processes that directly impact their lives. Whether it’s advocating for their right to education, environmental protection, or safer communities, Project CLAP will ensure that children have a role in shaping policies and practices that affect their futures. This initiative also encourages a more inclusive and sustainable approach to tackling important issues, one that values children’s input and perspectives.

The long-term vision of Project CLAP is to create lasting change by ensuring that children’s voices continue to shape the decisions that affect their lives and communities. Through the project, we hope to build a network of young advocates who can inspire others and contribute to creating a more just and equitable society. These young leaders will carry forward the skills and experiences they gain through the project, becoming lifelong advocates for their rights and the rights of others.
