Growing Digital Confidence in Classrooms and Beyond

From May 26 to 30, ChildFund Philippines joined our partners from ChildFund Korea on a school-to-school visit to see the Pro Digi-LOOP project in action. We visited three public schools in Manila—Beata, Bagong Barangay, and Fernando Guerrero Elementary Schools—where digital learning is beginning to take root in everyday classroom life.

The visits offered more than just a look at equipment or new facilities. They were an opportunity to listen to teachers, parents, and students as they shared how access to technology is changing the way they teach, support, and learn.

Inside the classrooms, students were actively using digital tools to explore new topics, collaborate with classmates, and create original work. Teachers spoke about how the project is helping them rethink their lessons and bring new energy into their teaching. With ICT tools in place, students are showing more curiosity and confidence in the way they learn.

The conversations with parents were just as meaningful. Together with our partners, we sat down with families to hear their thoughts on digital learning at home. Many parents opened up about the challenges they face, especially in guiding their children through technology. Others shared how learning about online safety and digital habits has helped them stay more involved in their child’s education.

This is what the Pro Digi-LOOP project is all about. It is not just about providing gadgets or internet access. It is about building stronger ICT hubs in schools, training teachers and parents, and promoting digital literacy and online safety as shared responsibilities. Every part of the project is designed to create a safe and supportive learning environment in a digital world that is constantly evolving.

As the digital landscape continues to grow, so does the need to make sure children are not left behind. Through the Pro Digi-LOOP project, we are closing that gap by surrounding learners with the support they need to learn, grow, and stay safe, both online and offline.
