ChildFund Philippines proudly hosted an event in Manila to spotlight child-centered climate action and financing on October 29, 2024. This initiative brought together top climate finance experts, corporate partners, and advocates, all united by a shared commitment to addressing the urgent impacts of climate change on children.
The event welcomed prominent figures, including Mr. Prudencio Calado III, Assistant Vice President of the Environmental Program Management Department at LandBank of the Philippines; Mr. Bruno Carrasco, Director General and Chief Compliance Officer of the Sustainable Development and Climate Change Department at the Asian Development Bank; Mr. Marcel J. Silvius, Country Representative for the Philippines and Sustainable Landscapes Lead in Asia at the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI); Ms. Beverly J. Brul from the Grameen Foundation; and Mr. Jeremie de Charentenay from Livelihoods Venture.
At the core of the discussions was the idea that climate finance must prioritize children’s needs and amplify their voices. With key global events like COP29 on the horizon, participants explored how investments in child-centered climate action can create lasting resilience for young people, their families, and their communities.
By aligning expertise and resources, the event emphasized how child-centric solutions can go beyond addressing immediate challenges, paving the way for sustainable growth and recovery in the face of climate change.
